Like many other Austinites, we discovered our backflow valve was leaking after... the freeze. We called a number of places, but they were either scheduled out for a month, or didn't have the part, or were interested in making a quick buck with ridiculously high rates.Smart Earth Sprinklers were able to come out in a couple of days, quoted a fair rate over the phone. They replaced the valve, inspected it, and ran the sprinkler system to check the heads. They were not pushy at all when I said I'd replace the heads myself. They continued the inspection and flagged the bad heads.They had a minor issue when they got some of the purple plastic glue primer on the wall. They apologized immediately, and made things right; they came back within an hour with solution and sandpaper and scrubbed the primer off the wall.Overall, a really good experience. I highly recommend them.read more

Called to schedule an appointment and at the time the earliest I could get was... a month out but Michael called a after a few days to let me know they had a cancellation and the technician could be at my house within the hour.The technician (don’t recall his name) checked the system out, told me the issues he found and repeated the testing so I could see what was not working. He explained how I could replace the malfunctioning part if I wanted to do the work myself and provided me with a quote for him to do the work. I chose for him to do it. Work was performed in a timely manner and my system is up and running...can now also control my sprinkler system from my iPhone.read more

After an unprecedented harsh winter preceded by repairs from another firm in... October, there were broken lines, broken rotors, and broken or missing little pop-ups. The installer was early and finished all repairs and the extension of a soaker hose for one area. He practiced social distancing and was covered up when we communicated. The invoice was detailed and work was warranted for a year. We will have a hot summer and the warranty period is appropriate.read more

I reached out to Gabriel to get my backflow preventer repaired/replaced since... it was leaking. We scheduled 2 weeks out and communication was great throughout. Justin came out and inspected the old backflow preventer, and clearly explained the current problems with it and we decided to go with a replacement. He also answered other question I had about my sprinkler system. The permit and inspection process was seamlessly included. Overall, I highly recommend Smart Earth.read more

Last fall, I had to turn off my sprinklers and the valve knob disintegrated in... my hand. After the big Texas Polar Vortex, I called to get put on the non-emergency waiting list for service assuming I wouldn't get an appointment for weeks. Instead, I got a prompt next day appointment and a same-day repair. I learned that what I thought was the main sprinkler valve was not and it was the backflow preventer. Gabriel replaced the backflow and installed a main shut off valve in just a couple of hours. Great Service!read more

Outstanding experience working with owner Gabriel and his crew. I had two... rental properties (side by side) in north Austin and both systems had issues - sprinkler line broken underground and bubbling to the surface, sprinkler line broken by tree root along a stone wall/sidewalk, and various mis-aligned heads.The technician (Justin?) was terrific. After spending time inspecting each zone's operation ( 8 zones at each house) he gave me an estimate for the cost to repair, and then did the work.I hung around for most of the time while he worked, mostly out of curiousity, and he was friendly and obviously very skilled.Super happy that I now have a go-to company in the Austin area for sprinkler repair!read more
